Google Tez-Google’s UPI Payment App Launched In India

Google, the Internet search giant’s first UPI-enabled digital payments app Google Tez” was launched in India this week.  Now in India there are a lot of UPI payment apps available like  Paytm, PhonePe, the NPCI’s BHIM app, and much more UPI apps from different banks in the country.

Google Tez will let users link their phones to their bank accounts to pay securely in physical stores and online stores, also can be used for person-to-person money transfers. A new feature called Audio QR, which uses ultrasonic sounds to exchange money.

“Send money home to your family, split a dinner bill with friends, or pay the neighborhood chaiwala. Make all payments big or small, directly from your bank account with Tez, Google’s new digital payment app for India,” Google notes about the new App.

To popularise Tez app, Google is offering users Rs. 51 for referring new users to the app. After the referred individual makes their first payment, both users will get 51 Rs credited to their bank accounts. Also when users transfer money Rs. 50 and above Google awards both the sender and the recipient Google Tez Scratch Cards, with one scratch card per week. Scratch card gives users the chance to win up to Rs. 1,000, which is transferred back to the respective bank account.
